Sticking with the trend of discussing asian things during the most American of weeks, I starting thinking about this post while playing Monster Hunter Tri and Pokemon simultaneously last night. The thing is, when I'm hacking and slashing away, I can't help but sorta wish I was that digital knight with the gigantic hammer bopping dragons on the shnoz for fun. I mean, since we can all can sadly agree that Pokemon don't exist (though wouldn't it be cool to ride your pokemon to work instead of cars and planes? on another note, why don't the humans ever eat pokemon in the show? you never see any other sources of protein available...), that leaves an urban modern day ninja/samurai/hunter. Wouldn't it just be grand to only have to worry about when some guy would come up to your house and drop off a bag of gold, and then tell you to help him with his bear infestation? That's when you go to your battle chest, pick up your crossbow and suit of armor, and go to the Olde Forest of Holmdel Parke. At midnight of course. Life would be so much easier and bizarre if I didn't have to worry about going to the supermarket but rather, if my dragon meat was going to spoil because I buried it in the ground. Saving princesses from giant skyscrapers would be my side job, and only if I gained experience in the form of steroids. My point is, i'm tired of waiting for my test scores and writing applications. I've got better things I could be doing, like sharpening my battle axe and flexing my muscles.
So next time you're putting on your Sperry's for just another day, think about putting on your getas instead and living the dream. I know I'll be doing just that after work. Heading to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning. By horse.
