King of the Forest

For whatever reason, today's sunset made me think of My Neighbor Totoro. Or perhaps..it was because a few of them were lying around when I took my self portrait yesterday. Whatever the reason, I also wanted to stretch my legs a little after work and play a bit with my 70-200. It's almost criminal to own this lens and use it as rarely as I do. I hope to make amends this summer. Anyways, strobe placement can be seen in the pulled back photo. I wanted to have a nice rim light to make the totoro pop. I've also been using the flashes without diffusers/softboxes recently. Most because I'm lazy, but also because none of these shots really need them for just some fill flash and halos. Both set to manual 1/80. Triggered by CLS. Camera was set to manual mode, 1/100s to get some of that nice ambient light, f/3.5, ISO 200, FL: 170mm, and Exposure Bias: -1/3 EV. C&C welcome.

Just two more days till my test. Starting to feel real now.
